About the Role
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is the first national parks agency in Australia to adopt a zero-extinction target. The Assistant Project Officer, Threatened Species is an exciting opportunity to be part of this program. You will work as part of a team contributing to the implementation, coordination and monitoring of threatened species programs working towards the goal of zero extinctions on the national park estate.
Working closely with the Project Officer, Threatened Species and NPWS rangers, field staff and contractors you will assist in designing, planning, implementing and reporting on threatened species programs. This will involve travelling to remote locations where you will often work alone and independently while adhering to strict safety protocols. This work requires a high degree of time management, project planning, accurate data collection and the ability to solve problems on the fly.
