Machinery application Engineer / Solution Engineer (m/f/n)

What you’ll do:

Your main task, while being a role model for the other Application Engineers, is in pre-sales executing activities driven by the Solution-Team in converting those value-based opportunities to a WIN.
Visiting existing and new potential customers, supporting the Solution-Architects in the best solution for the application, defining and executing (e.g. prepare the CODESYS program) Proof-of-Concepts together with the customer’s technical team are some of the tasks.
Our team goal is generating new business with disruptive solutions including the full Eaton product basket focusing on OEM Machine Manufacturers.

1. Technical evaluation, implementation, and support of customer projects (during pre-sales as well as ramp-up phase) in the Machinery OEM area
2. Creation and maintenance of standard application software in the form of application examples, application notes, toolboxes, etc.
3. Focus on value-based solutions and ecosystem for low-to-mid complexity application by pushing the full Eaton product basket.
4. Ensure timely and quality support to our valuable customers (pre- and after-sales)
5. Application, consulting, and problem solving. Support for customers, partners, and sales representatives (also on site)
6. Execute customer training courses, workshops and internal seminars on products and applications
7. Evaluation of selected Industry 4.0 technologies in relation to Eaton products, in particular next generation automation and drives
8. Development of automation solutions with recurring potential including everything part of the control cabinet and around the motor; from the phase of the machine concept (Proof-of-Concept) to the industrial prototyping

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / electronic / mechatronic / systems engineering or similar

Work experience in the industrial automation field (no less than 5 years of experience). Strong knowledge in programming languages (e.g. CODESYS)

Skills:

'Demonstrates strong experience in the automation industry. Preferably in machine control, machine interface and mechatronics

• Must be customer oriented as well as understanding of customer behavior in the machinery environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, independent, structured, and responsible way of working
• Flexibility, team working as well as communication skills
• Experience in collaboration with distributed (virtual) teams
• Fluent in German (preferred mother-tongue) and English (oral and written B1-B2 level)
