University Assistant (Prae-Doc)

At the Institute of Telecommunications (Research Unit Signal Processing) TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: September 2023.
Tasks:
- Research in the area of machine learning for telecommunications
- Teaching tasks (exercises and exams)
- Assistance with theses supervision
- Scientific publishing (journal and conference papers, dissertation)
- Participation in scientific events
- Assistance with organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Master or diploma degree in electrical engineering / telecommunications
- Theoretical know-how in machine learning (e.g., Gaussian processes) and its application in wireless networks (e.g., traffic and coverage prediction)
- Experience with the numerical simulation of learning algorithms in telecommunications contexts
- Very good skills in spoken and written English
- Advanced problem solving skills and scientific curiosity
- Team player with very good communication skills

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,458.00/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
